Boxing To Continue In UK In February
Boxing fans are excited to see Amir Khan (34-5, 21 KOs) return to action Kell Brook (39-3, 27 KOs) in February after the British Boxing Board of Control gave a green signal for resumption of boxing in February.
Boxing-related events are suspended across the United Kingdom throughout January due to a spike in coronavirus cases. British Boxing Board of Control’s Robert Smith confirmed the news.
Two fights that are facing delay due to the ban are Chris Eubank Jr vs Liam Williams and Claressa Shields vs Ema Kozin. Both showdowns will now be held on February 5.
The Khan-Brook bout has a special place in fans’ hearts, primarily because it seems to be going down years too late. Both stars are past their primes and out of the title picture. Khan last entered the ring in 2019 where he lost to Billy Dib (47-6, 27 KOs).
Khan was the favorite in the contest since Dib had moved up three weight divisions to face him.
As for Brook, he is coming off a loss to Terence Crawford. The pound-for-pound superstar and WBO welterweight titlist stopped Special K in the fourth round in 2020.
