Brazil Leads Medal Count In Zagreb

793 Judoka from around the world would help make the European Cup for Cadets in Zagreb, the biggest in Eurpoean Cup history, as these competitors prepare for the European championships later this year.

Leading the medal count was Brazil with nine trips to the podium, yet it would be the Hungarian team walking away with the most gold medals, as they would take three medals in Zagreb.

14 countries took home medals during last weekend’s tournament, with Italy to take the first gold, as Giulia Giorgia would win the U40kg prize. She would be followed up by fellow Italian, Carlotta Avanzato, who would win gold in the U48kg division.

Germany, which has been a standard bearer at this level of judo for years, could only secure one gold medal, as Raffaele Igl would take it in the U70kg division.
