BREAKING: Bellator 254 Bout Canceled Following Weigh-ins

A bout planned for the main card of Bellator 254 has been canceled.

Bellator 254 takes place on Thursday night, December 10. It’ll be headlined by a women’s flyweight title clash between champion Ilima-Lei Macfarlane and Juliana Velasquez. Both fighters made weight without incident, so their championship fight is official. One main card bout wasn’t as fortunate.

Goiti Yamauchi and Nate Andrews were scheduled to collide in a lightweight battle inside the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. Yamauchi missed weight by a whopping 6.8 pounds. Andrews made weight at 155.8 pounds but the fight is off.

MMAJunkie.com’s Nolan King was the first to report that Yamauchi vs. Andrews will not be taking place on Thursday.

“Breaking: Goiti Yamauchi vs. Nate Andrews is OFF tomorrow’s Bellator 254 main card, per promotion officials.”

Yamauchi is no stranger to scale fails. He missed the lightweight limit for Bellator 109, 237, and now 254. Mohegan Tribe commission head Mike Mazzulli is now requiring Yamauchi to compete in the welterweight division moving forward. Andrews will receive his fight purse for making weight.

Nolan King also noted that Davion Franklin vs. Anthony Garrett has been promoted to the main card. Franklin vs. Garrett will begin the CBS SPORTS Network telecast. Be sure to stick with us for live results on fight night.
