BREAKING: Curtis Blaydes vs. Derrick Lewis OFF UFC Vegas 15 Card

Curtis Blaydes vs. Derrick Lewis will not be taking place this Saturday night, November 28.

Blaydes and Lewis were scheduled to collide inside the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada. The heavyweight tilt would’ve headlined UFC Vegas 15. As plans will be, plans will go awry.

ESPN’s Ariel Helwani reports that Blaydes has tested positive for COVID-19, meaning his fight with Lewis has been canceled.

“Curtis Blaydes vs. Derrick Lewis — tomorrow night’s UFC main event — has been canceled, per multiple sources. Blaydes has tested positive for COVID. The promotion is hoping to reschedule the fight in December, sources say, though that isn’t a done deal just yet.”

Blaydes is riding a four-fight winning streak. He was hoping to capitalize off the momentum this weekend but he will have to wait. As for Lewis, he has won three straight bouts and was hoping to get himself back in title contention. A win over Blaydes would have him near the top of the heap but it wasn’t meant to be this Saturday.

FIGHT SPORTS will provide you with more details on future plans for Blaydes vs. Lewis as they become available. As it stands now, the new main event for UFC Vegas 15 is Anthony Smith vs. Devin Clark. Join us for weigh-in results here.
