Oscar De La Hoya is reportedly out of the Vitor Belfort fight and, now, Evander Holyfield is stepping in.
The new matchup hasn’t been officially sanctioned yet, but De La Hoya announced he’s pulling out of the September 11 fight because he contracted Covid-19 despite being fully vaccinated.

TMZ Sports was first to announce the news.
De La Hoya has not competed in 13 years after retiring due to a loss against Manny Pacquiao.
Meanwhile, Belfort, a UFC fighter, has not competed since his loss to Lyoto Machida in 2018. His record in his overall professional MMA career is 26-14.
Holyfield is considered one of the greatest boxers of all time. He hasn’t fought since 2011 where he earned a TKO victory over Brian Nielsen.
He debuted in the sport in 1984. The now 58-year-old reigned as the undisputed champion at cruiserweight in the late 1980s and at heavyweight in the early 1990s.
