BREAKING: UFC Vegas 12 Bout Reportedly Canceled
The UFC Vegas 12 card is now down to 11 fights.
Evy Rodrigues of Combate reports that a planned women’s flyweight bout between Priscila Cachoeira and Cortney Casey is off the UFC Vegas 12 card. The report notes that Cachoeira had issues with her weight cut, leading to the bout cancellation.
Ahead of UFC Vegas 12, Cachoeira admitted to MMAFighting.com that she wasn’t feeling well ahead of the planned bout with Casey.
“I’m gonna be very honest with you. When I took this fight I had three months to prepare, and during that time I had COVID, and right after I recovered from COVID, ‘let’s train,’ I had dengue fever. So, to be honest, if I tell you I’m 100 percent prepared, no, I’m not, but I have a huge heart inside of me and I will never back down.”
UFC Vegas 12 will be headlined by a 185-pound bout. Former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva will take on Uriah Hall. Both men tipped the scales for the weigh-ins and hit their target weight. Silva weighed in at 184 pounds, while Hall’s weight was 186 pounds.
The UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada will play host to UFC Vegas 12. It’ll be the UFC’s return event from its tour in Abu Dhabi.
