BREAKING: Zach Parker vs. Cesar Nunez OFF Saunders vs. Murray Card

Zach Parker will not be in action today, December 4.

Parker was expected to take on Cesar Nunez on a Matchroom Boxing card headlined by the WBO Super-Middleweight Title fight between champion Billy Joe Saunders and Martin Murray. Unfortunately, things took a turn at the last minute. While both men weighed in without issue, a positive COVID-19 test from Nunez’s trainer has knocked this bout off the card.

Parker vented about the situation on his Twitter account.

“Devastated I’ve just been told I’m not boxing tonight due to my opponent’s trainer testing positive for COVID I’m sick to death of this year! I want to say thank you for all your messages and I don’t know what to say I’m just so frustrated and pissed off!! All the hard work and dedication just down the window for these weird tests, he tested negative twice then the 3rd test he tested positive plus been in a bubble so wouldn’t even been in contact with anyone with it it’s a joke!”

Parker was hoping to get one last bout in before the end of 2020. He last competed back on March 7. Parker scored a TKO victory over Rohan Murdock in the 11th round.

As for Nunez, he also competed earlier this week. He nabbed a TKO finish over Alejandro Mostazo. It was a bounce-back win for Nunes, who was coming off a first-round beatdown at the hands of Edgar Berlanga.

FIGHT SPORTS will keep you posted with updates on what’s next for Zach Parker as that information becomes available.
