British Boxing Icons to be Featured in New Amazon Documentary
‘Four Kings’ is coming to Prime Video in 2024
In 2024, Prime Video will debut ‘Four Kings,’ a four-part documentary dissecting the captivating rivalry between British Boxing legends Chris Eubank, Nigel Benn, Lennox Lewis and Frank Bruno exclusively in the UK and Ireland. ‘Four Kings’ details the ascent of a golden era in British boxing, which saw these four men rise from the same neighborhood in London to championship glory, including realizing one of the most commercially successful weeks in British boxing history, earning half a billion television viewers during a single week in 1991.
“I was delighted and honored to be part of this film. This period of time in boxing history was a special time and each of the 4 individual stories interwoven was part of World Boxing folklore,” shared Bruno.
“Everybody knows what happened in the fights, but they didn’t see what led up to the fight, the rivalries were real, we all wanted to outdo each other, I’m excited that this series will give the public a chance to see behind the curtain,” Lewis exclaimed.
“In the world of boxing, I’ve been called a champion, but for me, it goes beyond that—I am a king. Christopher Livingston Eubank, a name that echoes through the annals of the sport, isn’t just about winning in the ring; it’s about being a true King, both inside and outside of the squared circle,” claimed Eubank.
“I really enjoyed the time I had with Frank and Chris expressing our hearts and being truthful about our careers and life,” Benn said.
The project, which is Executive produced by Oscar winner Macdonald (One Day in September, Touching the Void) and Rick Murray, CEO of Workerbee Group, will feature archive footage and exclusive interviews.
This documentary will bring a revered era of British Boxing back to life, including the emotional highs of their respective triumphs and their famous feuds and struggles both in and out of the ring.
