Brock Lesnar Signals Retirement At WresteMania

Following losing his match at WrestleMania 42 on Sunday, Brock Lesnar signaled his retirement from WWE.

The 48-year-old Lesnar remained in the ring after the loss, slowly unlaced his boots and removed his gloves, placing them in the center of the ring – a gesture signifying retirement. Lesnar’s longtime friend and onscreen manager, Paul Heyman, entered the ring to embrace him and as he fought back tears, Lesnar could be seen saying, “I’m done”. An emotional Lesnar then climbed the ropes for seemingly the final time as the over 50,000 fans in attendance at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium chanted “Thank You Brock’.

Lesnar, a NCAA heavyweight wrestling champion, joined WWE in 2002 and was an 8-time WWE champion, a 3-time Universal champion, and a two-time Royal Rumble winner. Brock is also a former UFC heavyweight champion, winning the title in November 2008 by beating Randy Couture just over a year after signing with the promotion.
