Broner Blasts Everyone At Presser…Even Vanessa Carlton

In what may be the first time in boxing history, Vanessa Carlton was played at a press conference, as Adrien Broner blasted the singer’s A Thousand Miles during Thursday’s press conference in Brooklyn.

Broner started the week with an Instagram war with New York rapper Tekashi69, which may or may not have moved or caused the cancellation of all media events. The Cincinnati born boxer was in rare form at the presser, blasting everyone from his opponent Jessie Vargas by verbally attacking him and playing the aforementioned pop song during Vargas’ comments and as his opening statement, to Leonard Ellerbe, to the “fake a** press conference” taking place at Barclays Center.

“I’m just ready to fight. I’m not worried about Jessie. This is a very important fight for my career, said Broner to reporters during Thursday’s press conference.”

The fighter who claims he’s “about billions.” believes that he’s walking into the fight with no one but his camp on his side, which would lead to a verbal confrontation with Ellerbe, who Broner would swear at during one tense portion of the presser.

Broner also believes that he has not gotten credit that he deserves as “one of the best fighters of this era.”

“I hope I get credit when I beat Jessie Vargas. I hope I get the credit I deserve. People want me to lose and go away, but guess what? I worked harder than ever for this fight. I’m not losing to Jessie Vargas. I’m a four-time world champion and soon to be five-time world champion this year.”

Meanwhile, Vargas was the more composed of the two fighters, looking forward to be in the main event on April 21st.

“I’ve seen the mistakes Broner has made in the past. I have to come out and worry about my performance though. I’m versatile and I’ll do what I have to do. We’re both former world champions but at the end of the day there will only be one winner, and It’s going to be me, Vargas told reporters at the closed press conference in the downtown Brooklyn arena

One may have to wonder about Broner’s mindset heading into his fight with Vargas, especially with the caustic attitude he had during the presser. It could all just to add to fight week hype, but no one will know truly till after April 21st in Brooklyn.
