Broner Given Restraining Order After Homophobic Rant
Yet again, Adrien Broner is in trouble.
A restraining order has been filed against the former world champion by social media star Andrew C. Caldwell over a recent homophobic video rant. The order was filed in St. Louis, Missouri, and a judge granted a temporary restraining order, mandating Broner stay at least 500 feet away from Caldwell.
TMZ Sports says that Caldwell found the video from Broner to be a threat towards him and in court documents wrote “[Broner] says on social media that he coming to St. Louis to kill me.”
The video appears to be a response to Caldwell, with Broner insinuating the social media star — known for his 2014 proclamation of being a “divert” from homosexuality at a church service — slid into his DMs. (WARNING: Video contains NSFW language)
A hearing on the matter is set for April 1.
