Holm, de Randamie to Fight for Featherweight Title
UFC officials announced via Twitter that they will crown it’s first female featherweight champion at UFC 208. The inaugural 145-pound belt will go to either former champion Holly Holm or Germaine de Randamie, both fighters will kick off a new female weight class for the UFC. The UFC will now have three female weight classes, the strawweight, bantamweight and now the featherweight divisions.

Surprisingly, Cris "Cyborg" Justino has been left out of this inaugural featherweight fight. An unfortunate situation seeing how Cyborg has been campaigning for a higher weight division for years in the UFC. Recently Cris Cyborg has been relegated to catch weight fights because she has a brutal time making the 135lb bantamweight weight limit.
Holm vs. de Randamie is the first official addition to the February 11th fight card in Brooklyn. Other bouts have been rumored but the UFC has not announced any other official contests as of now.
