Buatsi And Azeez Make Weight Ahead Of Their WBA Light Heavyweight Title Eliminator

Joshua Buatsi and Dan Azeez made weight ahead of their WBA Light Heavyweight Title Eliminator on Saturday.

The British domestic clash takes place from Wembley Arena, London, between two undefeated fighters. The winner puts themselves in a position to fight Dmitry Bivol for the WBA Light Heavyweight Title. Buatsi’s last bout was a unanimous decision win against Pawel Stepien. His record stands at 17-0, with 13 knockouts. But he faces his friend and former sparring partner Azeez.

The Light Heavyweight’s biggest win came against Rocky Fielding in 2022. Since then, Azeez has boxed outside the UK, beating Thomas Faure and Khalid Graidia in France and Italy, respectively. Buatsi hit the scales at 174 pounds, while Azeez came in lighter than expected at 172.3 pounds. Azeez arrived late to the weigh-in, blaming the traffic, which did not leave Buatsi very happy.
