Cage Warriors Postpones Belfast and Birmingham Shows
Try as they might, Cage Warriors will not be putting the promotions next two fights. In the wake of the coronavirus, Cage Warriors’ events in Belfast and Birmingham have been postponed.
“We would like to apologise to fans who were looking forward to these events and thank them for their continued support, but April and May will have to be rescheduled,” said Cage Warriors President Graham Boylan in a release.” We are still coming to showcase your hometown fighters but a bit later than we would have liked.
“More widely, we would like to assure the MMA community that as soon as the situation in Europe improves, we’ll be putting fights on at the first given opportunity.”
Originally set for May 16, the Cage Warriors’ Belfast event (CW 114) will not be on September 26 from inside the SSE Arena. April 18 was the date of Cage Warriors Birmingham (CW 115), and now it will be on October 10 from inside the Arena Birmingham. Tickets for the original dates will remain valid for the future dates.
This comes after Cage Warriors 113 went on without a crowd in Manchester. While the card had its fair share of shakeups, all fights were able to go on right on cue.
172 cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in Northern Ireland, while Birmingham just confirmed its first case of the virus two days ago.
