Cain Velasquez Starts Training Following Prison Release

Cain Velasquez (14-3) has started training after his release from prison on February 15, 2026.

The 43-year-old former two-time UFC heavyweight champion was granted early parole after serving approximately ten months in prison in connection with the 2022 shooting incident involving his son’s accused molester. The early release was due to time already served as Cain served over 1200 days in custody, including house arrest, and for his participation in rehabilitation programs.

Velasquez, who retired from MMA in 2019 to go on to sign a multi-year deal with WWE and to coach, is finding his rhythm again while remaining focused on his family and personal recovery. In the video, Velasquez can be seen doing various gym workouts.
