Caleb Plant, Canelo Alvarez Continue To Issue Warnings Days Before Showdown

Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Caleb Plant seem to genuinely dislike each other so much that the war of words hasn’t ended weeks after their scuffle at the press conference.

With a week more to go in the super fight, both fighters continue to take a dig at each other.

Addressing a virtual media conference with his trainer Eddy Reynoso, Alvarez warned Plant to come into the fight with a strong chin.

“I hope he has a good chin because he’s going to need it on fight night,” the Mexican boxer said. “Caleb has good boxing skills. He has good movement and a good jab. But it’s nothing new for me. I know what I need to do. I need to be patient in the early rounds and then start doing my job.”

Alvarez is well known for his fast reflexes and quick jabs.

His ability to dodge a barrage of punches makes it hard for his opponents to catch a clean shot. With heated exchanges between both stars, Alvarez is more pumped to bring his A-game on November 6.

“With all of the talk, it’s become personal. He crossed a line. But I have to remain focused because this is a very important fight for me,” he continued.

During a media workout a few days back, Plant showed similar intent against Alvarez.

“This is personal for me, but every fight is personal for me,” he said. “I’ve sacrificed a lot for this sport and dedicated myself completely, so anybody who’s getting in the way of my goals makes it personal to me. No matter who it is.”

“There have been some guys who lost before the bell even rang against Canelo,” Plant added. “I think that’s why he’s so irritated with me.”
