On March 25th, 2023, Caleb Plant is prepared to embrace the underdog role against interim WBC super middleweight champion David Benavidez.
Plant, with a record of 22-1 and 13 knockouts, has stated that he is no stranger to being considered the weaker or less favored contender, having experienced such situations numerous times throughout his life.
When Benavidez (26-0, 23 KOs) defends his interim WBC 168-lb title against Plant at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, the pressure will be on him as Plant is determined to pull off an upset.
By defeating Benavidez, Plant aims to prepare himself for a potential rematch with Canelo Alvarez. The 30-year-old is determined to seek vengeance for his loss to Canelo in November 2021, where he was knocked out in the 11th round.
In his comments to FightHype, Plant said: “I like taking the title of an underdog. That’s something I’ve been throughout not just my career but my life.
“I enjoy having that title above my name, and on March 25th, the most underrated thing, I don’t know. You’ll have to tune in on March 25th to find out for sure.”
