Caleb Plant: I Plan To Make Caleb Truax Pay For His Trash Talk

Caleb Plant believes Caleb Truax has bitten off more than he can chew.

On Saturday night, January 30, Plant will put the IBF Super-Middleweight Championship on the line against Truax. The title fight will headline a PBC on FOX card. This will be Plant’s third IBF Title defense.

During Plant’s 12th pro bout, which was against Adasat Rodriguez, Truax tweeted that he hoped to see Plant get knocked out just one round into the fight. Plant ended up earning the sixth-round TKO finish.

Speaking to BoxingScene.com, Plant said he hasn’t forgotten about Truax’s comment.

“He’s had some things to say about me in the past and I plan to make him pay for it on January 30th.”

Plant went on to say that he feels many 168-pounders are quick to talk trash about him.

“I don’t know what it is. I don’t know why they dislike me so much. That’s kind of how I found it to be in my career. They either really like me and go all out to support me, or they just flat out don’t like me.

“I never really understood why, but that’s alright. It’s a fight, so I don’t want [Truax] to like me. I know I don’t like him. I couldn’t care less about his feelings towards me. When that bell rings, if he’s got something that he don’t like about me then that’s where he can do something about it.”

Many believe that WBA (Super), WBC, and The Ring Super-Middleweight Champion Canelo Alvarez will eventually share the ring with Plant. While Plant certainly isn’t opposed to the matchup, he has said that he doesn’t plan on chasing anyone.
