Caleb Plant: I Showed I Belong On The Top, I’ll Be Champion Again
Caleb Plant has vowed to come back stronger than ever after losing his IBF championship to Canelo Alvarez last Saturday night in Las Vegas.
The former champion lost via KO in the 11th round.
“I’ve bent most the world to my will and done it with nothing but passion and skill. I’ll be back,” the former IBF champ said.
Canelo made history with the win, become boxing’s first undisputed super-middleweight champion. He has become just the sixth fighter to hold all four belts from the separate governing bodies at the same time.
Both boxers buried the hatchets right after the fight was concluded.
Plant never looked to trouble the Mexican superstar throughout the fight. It seemed as if Canelo can almost predict when Plant was going for heavy strikes so that he can dodge it perfectly.
Plant became the IBF titlist in January 2019 when he beat Jose Uzcategui via unanimous decision. He went on to successfully defend his title thrice against Mike Lee, Caleb Truax and Vincent Feigenbutz.
“I showed I belong on the top level and I’ll be champion of the world again,” Plant said. “I’ve never been scared to go big or go out on my shield. Thank you to all the fans and all my supporters.”
