Caleb Plant On Press Conference Altercation: You’ll Never Hear Me Talk About Someone’s Mother
Videos of Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant getting physical at their pre-fight press conference flooded social media and headlines in an instant.
Initial reports alerted fans that Plant had a “big gash” under his right eye and it was bleeding “profusely,” ESPN’s Mike Coppinger tweeted. The cut was a result of a series of events: Alvarez shoved Plant, Plant stumbled, Plant attempted to hit Alvarez and, lastly, Alvarez immediately dodged it and countered with a sharp right hand, sending Plant’s sunglasses flying and security swooping in.

A better look at the cut Caleb Plant sustained from his press conference brawl with Canelo Alvarez. Plant and his team have insisted it will not impact or delay the undisputed fight on Nov 6th. pic.twitter.com/VRRs8m6JkZ

Coppinger said the altercation started because Plant called Alvarez a cheater, but later on, it was reported that Plant talked about Alvarez’s mother, causing him to initiate the first move.

But Plant rebutted and said he would “never” talk about someone’s mother.
You’ll never hear me talk about someone’s mother, kids or wife. When men go off to war they leave the women and children at home.

Plant’s mother, Beth, was shot and killed by a police officer. Reports say the 51-year-olld was being transported to a hospital for a health condition, and she pulled out a knife and tried to injure the first responders and deputy.
She was shot before arriving at the hospital and was pronounced dead due to her injuries.
My mother was shot and killed by the police 2yrs ago. Why would I ever bring anyone’s mother up and even if I didn’t give a fuck, why would I open that door up just for some1 to 1 up me and tell me “didn’t your mom get shot and killed by the police dummy?” https://t.co/Zp2QMJGOTC

While it’s unclear why the incident happened, fans are revved up to see the showdown on November 6 for Alvarez’s WBC, WBO and WBA super middleweight titles and Plant’s IBF super middleweight strap.
