Caleb Plant Sets Sights On A Jermall Charlo Fight – ‘That’s Who I Want Next’

Caleb Plant is eying a fight with Jermall Charlo following their recent altercation.

The two boxers were involved in a high-profile incident following the Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford weigh-in. In the following video below, Plant can be seen hitting Charlo in front of his entourage. After they had been separated, Plant admitted that the boxer had disrespected him in front of his wife. This included pulling out his beard. That altercation has now been enough for Plant to target the fighter.

The former IBF super middleweight champion, though, did suffer a defeat in his last fight to David Benavidez. A win would have earned him the WBC interim belt and the right to face Canelo Alvarez for the undisputed titles.

As for Charlo, the boxer also has a point to prove. He has been away from the sport since his last fight against Juan Macias Montiel. Despite getting the win, it was all the way back in 2021, as the boxer struggled with mental health issues. However, he has hired Roy Jones Jr. as his trainer as he targets a comeback this year. And for Plant, that was the fight he was focused on.

“I’m looking to fight Charlo next. That’s the fight that I want. That’s who I want next. We gotta rumble. I know he’s been out for a minute. If he wants to get a tune-up, that’s perfectly fine with me but we need to make it happen. That would be a big fight for the fans. A lot of people wanna see it,” Plant
