Calvin Kattar Speaks On UFC Fight Island 7 Loss To Max Holloway
Calvin Kattar has issued a statement following his unanimous decision loss to Max Holloway.
On January 16, the UFC made its debut on ABC. In the main event, Holloway and Kattar shared the Octagon inside Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. Holloway battered Kattar for five rounds and earned the nod from all three judges at Octagon-side.
Taking to his Instagram account, Kattar spoke on his defeat at the hands of Holloway.

“Success in life comes when you simply refuse to give up. With goals so strong that obstacles, failure and loss only act as motivation. Props to Max on a hell of a fight he deserves all the praise. Thankful for my team’s commitment for this fight. On to the next. There is no stopping the man who doesn’t quit.”
With the loss, Kattar’s two-fight winning streak has been snapped. He hadn’t suffered a defeat since November 2019. Kattar’s record now falls to 22-5.
There is some good news for Kattar, however. After his bout with Holloway, The Massachusetts bruiser is $50,000 richer. That’s because his bout with Holloway earned both men “Fight of the Night” bonuses. This is Kattar’s third FOTN bonus.
