Campbell: If Not Linares, Why Not Crolla Or Burns

Luke Campbell is willing to face the winner of this Saturday’s Anthony Crolla and Ricky Burns fight if a rematch with Jorge Linares fails to materialize.

Crolla will take on Burns this Saturday night at the Manchester Arena, in a contest which could potentially spell retirement for the loser.

Campbell, who recently fell short in his first world title fight against Linares, is expecting a great fight between the two former world champions and ‘Cool Hand’ is open to facing the winner.

“If the British fight fans want me to fight the winner, then I have no problem with that.”

The Yorkshire fighter does concede that a rematch with Venezuelan Linares remains his main priority.

“My main aim is still to try and get the rematch with Linares and get it in the UK, I think I deserve that.

“If I don’t get that immediately, then the winner of Linares against Mikey Garcia, but other than that, the winner of Crolla-Burns is definitely an option… Let’s see what happens in that one this weekend and if the British fight fans want me to fight the winner, then I have no problem with that.”

Luke Campbell says that he felt he defeated Jorge Linares and hopes he can avenge the loss…

“I enjoy both types of fights and they both have their rewards, whether you’re in a big British clash or facing an international star,” he continued.

“If you’re fighting someone with a good fan base here at home then it is great for British fans to get involved.

“On the other hand, fighting on the big stage in America, facing and testing yourself against the world’s best, for me you can’t beat that, so of course I like either.”
