Canelo Alvarez has begun his training camp for his fight with Jermell Charlo on September 30th, 2023.
The undisputed super-middleweight champion faces the undisputed junior middleweight champion with history on the line.
Much has been said about the weight class since Charlo will move up two divisions.
While that may be the case, Charlo’s speed and height advantage is seen as a key equalizer in a bout where the Mexican is the favorite.
With that being said, the following training footage showed Alvarez working on his conditioning and work rate as he was seen shadowboxing around the ring.
In contrast, Charlo’s high-intensity training was also on show. The following footage shows the undisputed champion working some combinations in an attempt to increase his stamina.
This will be vital against the heavier Canelo, who is known for stopping his opponents down the stretch.
But recent fights have shown Canelo is slowing down in the later rounds, as the 33-year-old is not getting younger, which could be vital.
