Canelo Alvarez Picks Terence Crawford Over Errol Spence Jr
The Terence Crawford-Errol Spence Jr welterweight unification bout is reportedly still in the works.
Many fans have already expressed their excitement, including the former No. 1 pound-for-pound boxer Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.
Canelo has sided with Crawford as he believes the Nebraska native is better equipped and his ability to seamlessly switch from southpaw to orthodox stance without losing anything will make the difference in the end.
“I think Crawford because he goes southpaw and [orthodox],” said Alvarez to Fighthype.
The fight is yet to be announced but both parties are working to get this done.
Both fighters have come out on media and openly confessed to fighting each other next as they believe this is the right time to settle this beef and determine the next unified welterweight champ of the world.
Canelo feels if one is to beat Crawford, he has to target Bud’s body instead of his head as it will slow down him. And then it will be easier for his opponent to cut the ring and land better shots.
“Work the body, and being patient is the key. Everybody looks to the head [of Crawford], and it’s very difficult to hit in the head that kind of fighter,” Canelo said.
