Canelo Alvarez’s appearance in Creed III went down a treat with cinema and boxing fans, but getting the Mexican to appear in the film was not cheap.
Creed III was released on March 3rd, 2023, in the United States and starred Michael B. Jordan, Tessa Thompson and Jonathon Majors in a stellar cast. The film also included big boxing names such as José Benavidez Jr., Tony Bellew, and Terence Crawford. However, Canelo’s appearance raised the most talking points.
Alvarez made a cameo as he played the character of Felix Chavez. The character ended up appearing at a promo event for the movie’s character, Adonis Creed’s fight. Even though it was a brief appearance, it was alleged to have earned Canelo $1 million. The movie made $58 million on the first day of its release, while the figure reached $156 million in May 2023. And when the international revenue was added up, the movie made $275 million worldwide. And Canelo’s cameo went some way into achieving that.
