Canelo Claims Golovkin Is Scared To Fight Him
During Tuesday’s press conference to explain that he will not be facing Gennady Golovkin, Canelo Alvarez and his lawyer Ricardo Cestero, regarding some of the lingering questions asked by the media and Golovkin’s team.
When asked why didn’t Alvarez speak on this situation and defend himself sooner, Cestero explained that, “this matter has been a pending matter before the Nevada State Athletic Commission since the [test] results were delivered, and the matter has been treated as a pending matter before the commission ever since that letter was delivered on March 5th.
Alvarez then would give back some of the scorn thrown at him from Golovkin and his team, which included comments calling the Mexican boxer and his promoter Oscar De La Hoya. “Terrorists.”:
“To be honest what Golovkin or his team say doesn’t bother me at all because, number one, they’re not doctors, they’re not the experts…I don’t pay attention to them,” said Alvarez on Tuesday.
“It sounds more to me like an excuse of not wanting to fight me. Like he’s scared, to be honest.”
