Canelo: Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul Isn’t Relevant At All

Canelo Alvarez has dismissed the relevancy of Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul.

Mayweather and Paul will reportedly share the ring in an exhibition bout on June 6. There are still some hurdles to get through before the two throw leather. As of now, the event is set to take place inside Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.

There is a clear gap in experience between the two. Mayweather is a Hall of Fame elect with a perfect pro boxing record of 50-0. That’s not including his amateur career. Paul has just one pro boxing match and one amateur bout. Both were against fellow YouTuber KSI.

During an interview with Graham Bensinger, Canelo dismissed the matchup as a joke (h/t

“Well, it’s just an exhibition. It’s about making money is all. It’s really not relevant at all. It’s an exhibition, just for making money. As you say, it’s stupid.”

When asked who he thinks will win the exhibition, Canelo responded with the following.

“I think even the question is offensive. Mayweather, obviously.”

Canelo has a majority decision loss against Mayweather. The bout occurred back in 2013 and many argue Canelo hadn’t reached his prime yet. The Mexican star believes the current version of himself would dismantle Mayweather.

“He’d have nothing to do with me. If we were both at our prime, our best prime, he wouldn’t have anything to do with me. Nothing. I would knock him out.”
