Canelo-GGG Weigh-In Days From Fight Night
It is now only a few days until Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez face off in Las Vegas for their highly anticipated rematch.
With Golovkin’s WBC middleweight title up for grabs on September 15th, both Alvarez and Golovkin were subjected to the governing body’s weight-cutting guidelines. The WBC’s program outlines that both fighters cannot weigh more than 10% of championship weight 30 days prior to the fight, and 5% with seven days until fight night.
Both fighters would come in below the minimum 5%, as Golovkin would weigh-in at 163.8 pounds, and Golovkin coming in at 163.2 pounds at seven days out.
