Canelo: If The Money’s Right, I’ll Fight An MMA Guy

Moving up in weight is no surprise for Canelo Alvarez, but fighting someone from another sport…

Alvarez, who is looking to move up from middleweight to light heavyweight on November 2nd to challenge Sergey Kovalev for his WBO light heavyweight championship, is interested in following Floyd Mayweather’s footsteps and fighting someone from Mixed Martial Arts.

“For me it is not a challenge to fight with a UFC fighter, but (I would do it) if it represents good business,” said Canelo in a talk with TUDN.

“[Mixed Martial Arts fighters] do not present a challenge, nor a risk, because the styles and the way of fighting are very different, it’s as if you are fighting with a street fighter.”
