Canelo: I’ll Adjust To Jacobs
Daniel Jacobs is the underdog on May 4th when he looks to unify his IBF middleweight title against WBC and WBA middleweight champion, Canelo Alvarez.
That has not hindered the Brooklyn native’s confidence heading into fight night, claiming Canelo has yet to face a taller and stronger opponent at 160-pounds, and combining that with his speed and boxing ability, Jacobs feels he is in-fact the favorite.
Canelo, thinks to the contrary.
“We’ll see on May 4th, we can say a lot of things, but when you’re in the ring and when you see the other fighter that surprises you, it’s very different. It’s good that I’m going to try to work as hard as possible because it’s a sign that it will be a great fight,” said Canelo to ESPN Deportes.
“He has not faced anyone like me either. I am a strong fighter who knows how to come forward, go back if necessary, I am a born counter-puncher and I know how to adapt to any situation… if he goes fast, if he comes in to move, to come forward, I can adapt to any situation and take it in my favor.”
