Canelo In Talks To Fight Eubank Jr.

Canelo Alvarez is reportedly in talks to fight Chris Eubank Jr

Alvarez is coming off a victory against Jaime Munguia, in which he defended his Undisputed Super Middleweight Belt. While the fanbase is eager to see him fight David Benavidez, that is unlikely. Canelo is demanding $200 million, but so far, no one has put up those numbers.

Canelo has agreed on a deal with his IBF mandatory William Scull. However, reports indicate it is a step-aside deal as Canelo looks elsewhere. A fight with Eubank Jr. could also sell in the UK since he is a big name. Eubank has not fought since stopping Liam Smith last year following his first fight with his new trainer, Brian McIntyre.

It was the perfect response to getting stopped in the first Smith fight. A deal could make sense with Canelo and Eubank both in the latter stages of their careers. Alvarez also has potential fights with Edgar Berlanga and Jermall Charlo. Berlanga has a big Puerto Rican fanbase, while Charlo was linked with the Canelo fight before his brother, Jermell Charlo, took it. Despite those possibilities, boxing fans wanted a bigger name.
