Canelo is Going Back To School

Former Undisputed Super Middleweight Champion Canelo Alvarez announced his enrollment at the University of San Diego to pursue a degree in Business Administration.

While he is recovering from elbow surgery after his undisputed super middleweight title loss to Terence Crawford last September, Canelo featured a photo of himself on campus with a blackboard listing his goal: “Businessman.” The move shows Canelo is preparing for a future beyond the ring.

Canelo has expanded his portfolio into gasoline (Canelo Energy), fitness (I Can), and sports promotion (Canelo Promotions). Despite his enrollment as a university student, Canelo plans to return to the ring on September 12, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to mark the debut of Canelo Promotions in the Middle East.
