Canelo: It’ll Be “Difficult” To Return To 160
With the move up to 175-pounds, new WBO light heavyweight champion Canelo Alvarez is still determined to fight at middleweight again.
“It will probably be very difficult to lose weight,” Alvarez said during a post-fight press conference following his 11th round knockout of Sergey Kovalev. “It’s always been very difficult for me to lose weight. However, we must continue creating history and I can do it.”
“Let’s see,” Alvarez said of what weight he’s fighting at next. “I still don’t know. But I have to go back to my weight again.”
With championships at light heavyweight, super middleweight, and at middleweight, Alvarez is not without options for a return.
