Canelo Alvarez’s next fight with PBC and Amazon Prime Video appears to have an obstacle with disagreements over a ‘purse guarantee.’
Canelo is coming off a victory over Jermell Charlo via a unanimous decision, the first of his three fights under PBC. Alvarez has been mentioned alongside David Benavidez, Terence Crawford and Jermall Charlo for his next fight. Reports indicate a date of May 4 for his next fight. That would be a massive blow to PBC, which recently signed a multi-fight deal with Amazon Prime Video. Their first card featuring Keith Thurman vs Tim Tszyu for March 30 produced a mixed response, given that Thurman last fought two years ago. Tszyu’s WBO Junior Middleweight Title is also not on the line, downplaying the significance of the fight.
Why would that fight go to the t mobile arena, poor look when 3 quarters empty

Alvarez’s side has yet to comment on this, but it has left concerns over the Mexicans’ next move.

Sounds like Amazon is literally just providing their platform for PBC to broadcast on it seems. No money, no risk, if it makes money then Amazon win and if it doesn’t then it’s lose lose for PBC!
