Canelo’s Team Wants Him To Duck Bivol-Says Vadim Kornilov

According to Vadim Kornilov, the manager of Dmitry Bivol, it is his belief that Canelo Alvarez’s team will go to great lengths to prevent a rematch.

The reluctance to have a rematch can be understood, given the ease with which Bivol defeated Canelo in their first fight.

Not only did Bivol outbox the Mexican, but he also managed to bully and outman Canelo, who is known for his strong physique.

Vadim stressed that Canelo, DAZN, and Eddie Hearn are interested in the rematch, but he is certain that Alvarez’s team will try to prevent it.

In case Canelo decides not to fight Bivol, it is anticipated that he will have to safeguard his title as the undisputed super middleweight champion by facing David Benavidez.

Either way, it is a catch-22. If Canelo does swerve Bivol, it will be seen as a duck. However, by not doing so, he could be accused of doing the same when it comes to Benavidez.

With that being said, this is what Vadim told Ring TV: “I do believe that [Promoter] Eddie [Hearn], the fans, and DAZN want the rematch.

“There is no doubt this fight is attractive. I am sure Canelo personally wants revenge as well. At the same time, I don’t think Canelo’s team wants this fight, and everything will be done to try to avoid this rematch, and I don’t blame them.”
