Despite a late point deduction for a low blow, Adames secured a unanimous decision win: 118-108, 117-109, and 117-109. Adames found his opening early in the second, dropping Williams with a straight right hand. While “Ammo” showed heart to recover and land left hands later in the round, the knockdown set the tone.
By the sixth round, Williams appeared visibly hurt, though he tried to fire back with combinations. Adames out-landed Williams by connecting with 254 total punches compared to Williams’ 127. The champion’s accuracy was the story of the fight, knocking Williams’ mouthpiece out with a right hand in the 11th.
In the 12th round, the referee deducted a point from Adames for a low blow—his second of the night. This sparked a desperate flurry from Williams, but it was not enough to get the knockout.
