Carlos Sanchez won a controversial technical decision over Alexander Duran after a long and uneventful fight.
Throughout the fight, Duran (21-1, 7 KO) maintained a slow and steady pace, utilizing a wide stance and a lengthy jab to his advantage by controlling the range.
Sanchez, with a record of 24-1 and 19 knockouts, struggled to attack due to his failure to close the gap. Whenever Sanchez managed to move closer, Duran would exchange.

Sanchez became increasingly frustrated as Duran would clinch at the appropriate moment to tie him up. Duran’s dominance throughout the fight, however, was not reflected in the scorecards.
Sanchez managed to secure a technical decision win with scores of 60-56, 58-56, and 58-56, with suggestions that the Mexican got the decision due to fighting in his native country.
