Carnelossi Out, Dern To Now Face Cifers
The event schedule for the UFC continues to mix and match fighters as the company adjusts to the coronavirus.
Dern (7-1) lost her last fight back inside the octagon after having a baby. Before that she was 2-0 in the UFC. The gold medal-winning submission wrestler was 76-25-1 as a BJJ grappler before joining MMA in 2016. Now that she is back in action, Dern is looking to become the first champion that is a mom.
Carnelossi (12-2), her original opponent, was unable to enter the United States following travel restrictions due to the pandemic. The Brazilian is coming off a loss to Angela Hill in September, her UFC debut.
Dern now faces Cifers (10-4), who is also coming off of a loss to Angela Hill this past January. Since debuting in the UFC in 2018, Cifers is 2-2. “Shockwave” has decision wins over Jodie Esquibel and Polyana Viana.
The UFC Fight Night event on April 25 may be taking place on tribal land. The main event is scheduled to be Anthony Smith v. Glover Teixeira in a light heavyweight bout.
