Chael Sonnen Joins Khabib Nurmagomedov’s EFC As Commentator, Analyst
Khabib Nurmagomedov keeps improving from the other side of the octagon.
The Eagle Fighting Championship promoter (EFC) has added a new member to its commentary team — famous and talented fighter, Chael Sonnen, who has lots of experience in this field.
Sonnen, 49, was renowned for his trash-talking during a fighting career in which he contended for the UFC’s light-heavyweight and middleweight championships, gaining a reputation for his sharp-tongued humor as he clashed with fellow stars like Wanderlei Silva and Michael Bisping.
By the time he resigned from Bellator MMA in June 2019, the American had earned plenty of experience behind the microphone, having fought five times for the company following a more than three-year break after leaving the UFC in 2013.
Along with the announcement of Sonnen’s signing, the EFC posted on social media and referred to Sonnen with one of his nicknames: “The Bad Guy hits South Beach.”
Ex-UFC fighter Kevin Lee will debut in March for EFC while MMA veteran Sergei Kharitonov takes on skilled boxer Tyrone Sprong on Friday, January 28.
