Chandler Hints At His Return – ‘See You At The Top’

Michael Chandler has told fans he expects a big announcement soon, raising the possibility that he will eventually fight Conor McGregor

Chandler has not had a UFC fight since 2022, when he lost to Dustin Poirier at UFC 281. McGregor has also not been in the Octagon since his loss to Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021 after breaking his leg. McGregor-Chandler was set for June 29 at UFC 303. However, McGregor pulled out after breaking his toe.

Chandler was linked with a UFC Lightweight Title fight with Islam Makhachev instead. That fight never happened as Chandler is determined to get the McGregor fight. Reports indicated that McGregor-Chandler could happen in December. However, Islam Makhachev vs. Arman Tsarukyan is also being considered for that month at UFC 310.

“[The fight with Islam] was supposed to take place in October. But they have put it off. Now it’s being negotiated for December… It depends on when Islam is coming back, if he needs a surgery and he returns next spring then they will put an interim title on the line,” Arman said

But Chandler has suggested that things will become clearer soon.
