Charges for Ostovich’s Husband Reclassified

According to the Honolulu Police Department, Arnold Berdon has been released from custody after posting bail following his arrest for allegedly beating his wife, UFC women’s flyweight fighter Rachael Ostovich.

Berdon was released on $75,000 bail after his arrest, when he was charged with second-degree attempted murder for the Nov. 18 incident. The charges have reportedly also been reclassified to a second-degree assault charge.

The news of the situation first broke earlier in the week, when Ostovich was hospitalized for a fractured orbital bone and “coughing up blood” after the alleged attack.

This incident has forced Ostovich out of her scheduled fight with Paige VanZant at the first UFC on ESPN+ card in January in Brooklyn, New York. There is no timetable for her return.

The TUF 26 alumnae most recently competed in July, losing to Montana De La Rosa via submission.
