Charles Oliveira Didn’t Want Fight Vs. Islam Makhachev

Charles Oliveira is on the lookout of his next fight, but not against Islam Makhachev, after the fight had been confirmed last month.

On October 22 in Abu Dhabi, the two fighters will meet at UFC 280 in the pay-per-view headliner.

The community is backing up the fight, but Oliveira is not a fan of the upcoming bout.

Having a winning streak under his belt, the fighter has proven his success, but the champion is not yet fully satisfied, he has been longing for a fight against Conor McGregor.

After a McGregor victory against “The Highlight,” Oliveira welcomed him back to the Octagon.

Oliveira had expressed his lack of interest in his next fight with Makhachev. In a recent interview with a Brazilian YouTube channel PVT., he shared that he was interested in “the big payment” from another bout, which seems to hint at Conor McGregor.

“I didn’t want this fight. Everyone knows it,” Oliveira said.

“I wanted the big payment from the other fight. However, everyone knows that I’m a UFC employee. You can’t escape that. So we tried to negotiate from every angle. I tried NY because it was a neutral ground. But the fight was decided there (Abu Dhabi). But to be honest the cage is the same anywhere in the world.”

With McGregor potentially being out until 2023, Oliveira will still be waiting to enter the ring with his dream match.
