Charles Oliveira stops Michael Chandler for the UFC lightweight title at UFC 262

After a decade of 28 professional fights, Charles Oliveira finally struck gold and won the vacant UFC lightweight championship at the main event of UFC 262 in Houston. Oliveira stopped Michael Chandler at 19 seconds in the 2nd round to be crowned new world champion.

Oliveira barely survived the first round when Chandler almost knocked out the veteran. Oliveira regained his composure in the second round and quickly caught Chandler with a left hand that dropped him. With his knockout victory, Oliveira stands as the all-time UFC leader with 17 finishes.

The title was vacated after Khabib Nurmagomedov retired last October.
