Charlo Promises To Fight Crawford In 2024 – ‘Nothing Will Stop Me’

Jermell Charlo has promised to fight Terence Crawford in 2024 after his next fight.

The American is currently getting ready to take on his biggest challenge when he faces Canelo Alvarez on September 30th, 2023. Charlo will jump up two weight classes in the hope of becoming undisputed at 168. While that may be the case, Charlo is already looking beyond Canelo by calling out Crawford for a mega event next year.

“I’M THE KING. NOTHING Will Stop Me. Mega Fights Here On Out. “After My Boy’s Rematch, We Can Give The People What They Want And Make The Terence Crawford [Fight] Happen,” Charlo

In response, Crawford said: “Good Luck in your fight, I wish you the best.”

Nevertheless, that will all depend on the outcome of the result. A win for Charlo over Canelo will likely include a rematch clause at 168. Therefore, expecting Charlo to then drop down to 154 may be tougher than expected. And there is of course the question of how far up in weight can Crawford go.

Meanwhile, there will also be the question of who is the A-side. Both fighters are undisputed in their respective weight classes, and that is an issue that could crop up. Prior to Errol Spence Jr. and Crawford agreeing to their fight, talks did break down as the then-two undefeated fighters couldn’t see eye-to-eye. That is why Charlo has put Bud on notice by setting out his position very clearly.

“I do everything I can for the fans to make sure that the fight [against Crawford] happens. If Crawford comes up to my weight division or comes to wherever I’m at and meets halfway and has a good negotiation, because I don’t have time to be playing them games that he did with Errol [Spence Jr.] and taking forever. I ain’t here for that,” Charlo stated
