Charlo Wants Third Harrison Fight On Pay Per View
While the ratings for his most recent victory have not been released, Jermell Charlo feels the rubber match between him and Tony Harrison needs to be on pay-per-view.
“I know probably a big question is would you do a trilogy?,” Charlo said following his 11th round stoppage of Harrison as he regained the WBC super welterweight championship. “Take that sh-t to pay-per-view. This could’ve easily been pay-per-view. You know what I mean? And Ontario did great. They showed up. FOX did an amazing job promoting, and all of the things we seen.”
If FOX does pull the trigger on a third Harrision-Charlo fight on pay-per-view, it would be both fighter’s first time on the platform, that followed their first two fights airing on FOX the past two Decembers.
The first fight ended up with Charlo getting his first professional loss to Harrison by a controversial unanimous decision victory inside the Barclays Center, where the Detroit native was an 8-1 underdog.
After a June 23rd rematch in Las Vegas was canceled due to an injury to Harrison, the December 21st fight brought both men to California where Charlo dropped the defending champion once in the second round, and one final time in the 11th round, when referee Jack Reis stopped the fight.
