Charlo’s Are Interested In Matchroom
After Adrien Broner called an offer from Matchroom Boxing a “slave deal,” two other top fighters say they’re interested in working with Eddie Hearn’s promotion.
In an interview with ESPN, Jermall Charlo claimed that both he and twin brother, Jermell, are “definitely open to” talking about a deal with Matchroom Boxing USA.
Both, like Broner, have no promotional company, but are advised by PBC founder Al Haymon.
“We’re definitely open to it and to hearing what he has to say,” Jermall Charlo said. “And me and my twin brother are willing to work something out if it makes sense. Of course, I want to hear what he has to say.”
Charlo also claimed that people from Top Rank have been interested in bringing the Charlo’s to their company with their pact with ESPN.
Jermall Charlo the WBC’s interim middleweight champion, had a knockout win over Hugo Centeno Jr. in his last fight at Barclays Center, while Jermell Charlo is set to defend his WBC super welterweight title on June 9th against Austin Trout at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
