Charr-Bryan Purse Bid Set For May 17

While both Manuel Charr and Trevor Bryan missed out on the Anthony Joshua sweepstakes, they both will get a chance for a big payday.

On Wednesday, the WBA announced that mcdvoice-survey Charr their “regular” world heavyweight champion and Bryan their “interim” world heavyweight champion have been ordered to fight one another with a purse bid set for May 17th.

Per the governing body, the minimum bid has been set for $1 million with 75% going to Charr and 25% going to Bryan, who is designated as the challenger.

Per Boxing Scene, Don King may make a massive bid due to his fighter getting a 1/4 of the purse.

This would mark Charr’s first fight since winning the then vacant “regular” title against Alexander Ustinov in November, 2017.

Bryan has not fought since winning the interim title against BJ Flores in August 2018, now set to face the biggest challenge of his 20 fight career.
