Chavez-Jacobs At Super Middleweight?
After losing to Canelo Alvarez in May, former world middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs is planning his return to the ring, but at a new weight class.
Per ESPN, Matchroom Boxing is planning for Jacobs to return on December 14th at super middleweight against former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
Chavez. who has fought only once since his 2017 loss to Alvarez, is looking to prove he is still among the elite in the sport despite the layoff and injuries.
Matchroom looks to stack the card for Jacobs’ first fight since his decision loss to Alvarez, with super flyweight title unification between Juan Francisco Estrada and Kal Yafai, and Maurice Hooker’s debut at welterweight after losing his junior welterweight title to Jose Ramirez in July.
