Chavez Jr. Believes Alvarez Was On PEDs In 2017

Another of Canelo Alvarez’ former opponents, has come out to claim he is using performance enhancing drugs.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr claimed prior to their 2017 fight, that Alvarez was using performance enhancing drugs, has also continued to make those claims after the Mexican superstar was given a six month suspension by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

In a new interview,  Chavez Jr  does not believe the claims made by both Canelo and Golden Boy Promotions, that tainted meat was the cause of his issues, but also believes that the PEDS are not what makes Alvarez a great fighter.

“I do not think meat is the problem, they can see from his body, his character, the way he reacts when someone says something to him,” Chavez Jr. said in a story reported by Boxing Scene.

“I think Canelo was very obvious in his behavior, his character, how he was so rude to the trainer of Golovkin, Abel Sanchez. People who know about steroids, know that Canelo is using something – but I do not think that is the reason why Canelo is a good fighter, he deserves all the credit in the world,”
